SINGAPORE: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking at Asia’s premier security conference on Sunday, criticized certain actions that disrupted a Swiss-organized peace conference on the Ukraine war.


At a news conference held at the Shangri-La defense forum in Singapore, Zelenskyy claimed that certain influences were pressuring other countries and their leaders to avoid the upcoming peace talks.


“Certain influences in the region are working to derail the peace summit,” he said, according to a simultaneous translation of his remarks. “It is regrettable that such actions are occurring.”


Earlier in the day, Zelenskyy had urged top defense officials to attend the upcoming summit, expressing his disappointment at the reluctance of some countries to commit.


A defense minister from another country also spoke earlier at the Shangri-La conference, but he was not present when Zelenskyy made his appeal.


Zelenskyy mentioned that Ukraine had proposals for the summit aimed at establishing a basis for peace, including issues related to nuclear security, food security, the release of prisoners of war, and the return of abducted children.

Anupam Kher remembers last conversation with Satish Kaushik three hours before his death: ‘Go to the hospital, get yourself admitted

  A ctor Anupam Kher shared a strong friendship with late Bollywood actor-director Satish Kaushik, who passed away last year, following a heart attack. Recently, Kher revisited his first meeting with Kaushik at drama school in 1975. The Saaransh star also recalled the last conversation that he had with his friend of 48 years, just three hours before  his death. Kher recalled that he was on a phone call with Kaushik just three before before he succumbed to a heart attack. During their conversation, Kaushik had mentioned that he was feeling unwell, and Kher had told him to get admitted to a hospital. "I told him, 'Go to the hospital, get yourself admitted.
