The creator of Japan's immensely popular Dragon Ball comics and anime, Akira Toriyama, has passed away at the age of 68, according to his production team's announcement on Friday.


Debuting in 1984, Dragon Ball stands among the highest-selling manga franchises globally, giving rise to numerous anime series, films, and video games.


Toriyama's demise on March 1 was attributed to an "acute subdural hematoma" — a blood clot on the brain, as stated on the official "Dragon Ball" account on X (formerly Twitter).


Expressing deep regret, the statement, credited to Toriyama's Bird Studio, mentioned his ongoing creative projects and commended the artist's unwavering enthusiasm.

  A ctor Anupam Kher shared a strong friendship with late Bollywood actor-director Satish Kaushik, who passed away last year, following a heart attack. Recently, Kher revisited his first meeting with Kaushik at drama school in 1975. The Saaransh star also recalled the last conversation that he had with his friend of 48 years, just three hours before  his death. Kher recalled that he was on a phone call with Kaushik just three before before he succumbed to a heart attack. During their conversation, Kaushik had mentioned that he was feeling unwell, and Kher had told him to get admitted to a hospital. "I told him, 'Go to the hospital, get yourself admitted. Go as if you are going to a resort'," Kher shared with Bollywood Hungama. Kaushik insisted on going in the morning, but Kher didn't give up. He told his friend, "You go now. Lie down and rest there.
