"Shocking Revelation: Indian Army Hero Missing for 59 Years! NHRC Demands Answers – What Happened to Ananda Patri After Wars?"
The National Human Rights Commission of India (NHRC) has issued a notice, seeking reports on the actions taken regarding Ananda Patri, an Indian Army jawan who went missing around 59 years ago after the India-Pakistan war. The notice was directed to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), with a four-week deadline for submitting action taken reports. This development follows the emergence of Ananda Patri's photograph in a newspaper advertisement after 21 years, prompting a fresh petition by rights activist and lawyer Radhakanta Tripathy based on a letter from Dhamanagar police station to the secretary of Zilla Sainik Board in Balasore. Ananda, a sepoy in the Corps of Engineers Personnel, participated in the 1962 and 1965 wars against China and Pakistan and hailed from Gandhighat Sasan in Dhusuri block, Bhadrak district.
