In the 2019 elections, all 39 seats in Tamil Nadu went to polls in a single phase on April 18, 2019, with results announced on May 23, 2019.

In the previous general election, the DMK-Congress alliance secured a landslide victory in the southern state, claiming 38 out of 39 seats. The MK Stalin-led party won 24 seats, while Congress clinched 8. This victory marked a significant improvement from the 2014 results when the alliance failed to secure any seats in Tamil Nadu.


Meanwhile, the rival AIADMK-led alliance, which also included the BJP, secured only a single seat in the previous election.

Anupam Kher remembers last conversation with Satish Kaushik three hours before his death: ‘Go to the hospital, get yourself admitted

  A ctor Anupam Kher shared a strong friendship with late Bollywood actor-director Satish Kaushik, who passed away last year, following a heart attack. Recently, Kher revisited his first meeting with Kaushik at drama school in 1975. The Saaransh star also recalled the last conversation that he had with his friend of 48 years, just three hours before  his death. Kher recalled that he was on a phone call with Kaushik just three before before he succumbed to a heart attack. During their conversation, Kaushik had mentioned that he was feeling unwell, and Kher had told him to get admitted to a hospital. "I told him, 'Go to the hospital, get yourself admitted. Go as if you are going to a resort'," Kher shared with Bollywood Hungama. Kaushik insisted on going in the morning, but Kher didn't give up. He told his friend, "You go now. Lie down and rest there.
