Google commemorates the enduring legacy of the late Lebanese American writer and painter, Etel Adnan, with a captivating illustration featured on its homepage. The artwork, part of the renowned Google Doodles series, portrays Adnan at her desk, immersed in her creative process. Her paintings, which span five decades, depict vibrant interpretations of the sun, sea, and mountains, alongside her extensive written works exploring themes of war, identity, and feminism in the Arabic-speaking world.


Reflecting on Adnan's influence, Mary Sabbatino, vice president and partner at Galerie Lelong, Adnan's longtime representative, noted, "Etel Adnan inspired all who had the privilege of knowing her. She emphasized the importance of memory without dwelling in nostalgia, capturing beauty through words and images that transcend time." Adnan passed away in 2021 at the age of 96.

Anupam Kher remembers last conversation with Satish Kaushik three hours before his death: ‘Go to the hospital, get yourself admitted

  A ctor Anupam Kher shared a strong friendship with late Bollywood actor-director Satish Kaushik, who passed away last year, following a heart attack. Recently, Kher revisited his first meeting with Kaushik at drama school in 1975. The Saaransh star also recalled the last conversation that he had with his friend of 48 years, just three hours before  his death. Kher recalled that he was on a phone call with Kaushik just three before before he succumbed to a heart attack. During their conversation, Kaushik had mentioned that he was feeling unwell, and Kher had told him to get admitted to a hospital. "I told him, 'Go to the hospital, get yourself admitted. Go as if you are going to a resort'," Kher shared with Bollywood Hungama. Kaushik insisted on going in the morning, but Kher didn't give up. He told his friend, "You go now. Lie down and rest there.
