Ministers are actively addressing concerns about potential interference in health data by Chinese entities, according to a leaked letter.


Correspondence from Cabinet Office minister John Glen reveals ongoing efforts to ensure national security amidst worries surrounding Chinese genomics company BGI and its related ventures.


Allegations of attempted hacking into the Genomics England database by the company emerged in Parliament in March 2023 but were subsequently withdrawn.


Genomics, the study of the human genome, holds promise for advancing diagnoses and treatments for various diseases. Some MPs have expressed concerns about BGI's operations, fearing potential data compromise to the Chinese government, although BGI denies such allegations.

Anupam Kher remembers last conversation with Satish Kaushik three hours before his death: ‘Go to the hospital, get yourself admitted

  A ctor Anupam Kher shared a strong friendship with late Bollywood actor-director Satish Kaushik, who passed away last year, following a heart attack. Recently, Kher revisited his first meeting with Kaushik at drama school in 1975. The Saaransh star also recalled the last conversation that he had with his friend of 48 years, just three hours before  his death. Kher recalled that he was on a phone call with Kaushik just three before before he succumbed to a heart attack. During their conversation, Kaushik had mentioned that he was feeling unwell, and Kher had told him to get admitted to a hospital. "I told him, 'Go to the hospital, get yourself admitted. Go as if you are going to a resort'," Kher shared with Bollywood Hungama. Kaushik insisted on going in the morning, but Kher didn't give up. He told his friend, "You go now. Lie down and rest there.
