Protests in support of Palestine continued at major US universities until Friday evening, condemning Israel's bombardment of Gaza.

Throughout the week, police at several schools intervened, resulting in the arrests of hundreds nationwide. Protesters are urging universities to divest funds from entities associated with Israel.

Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have led to the deaths of over 34,000 Palestinians, as reported by the enclave's health ministry. Additionally, Hamas' attack on Israel on October 7 resulted in approximately 1,200 casualties.

College administrators are under pressure from lawmakers to address the protests. At Columbia University, where demonstrations are centered, the school's senate passed a resolution on Friday to investigate the handling of the protests by university leadership.

Recent developments include:

- Arizona State University: Three individuals were arrested on Friday for suspected trespassing related to setting up an unauthorized encampment.

- Barnard College: Resolutions have been reached with most students previously placed on interim suspension for participating in protests at Columbia's campus.

- Columbia University: A student spokesperson for the Columbia University Apartheid Divest coalition was banned after making controversial statements about Zionists in January, followed by an apology.

- Denver campuses: Around 40 out of approximately 100 people involved in setting up a pro-Palestinian encampment were arrested on Friday at a joint campus for the University of Colorado Denver, Community College of Denver, and Metropolitan State University of Denver.
