Omaha, Nebraska - Residents are grappling with the aftermath of a tornado that tore through suburban areas, causing widespread damage to homes and businesses before hitting an Iowa town.


Friday saw numerous tornadoes wreak havoc across the Midwest, with Omaha particularly affected as a building collapsed with people inside, and over 150 homes suffered damage.


Despite the extensive destruction, there were no reported fatalities, and only a small number of individuals required hospital treatment in the Omaha area, according to Dr. Lindsay Huse, health director of Douglas County Health Department, who described the outcome as "miraculous." Nearby communities also reported minimal injuries.


The tornado's path began near Lincoln, Nebraska, hitting an industrial building in Lancaster County where 70 people were trapped but successfully evacuated with non-life-threatening injuries.


Subsequently, one or possibly two tornadoes advanced towards Omaha, leaving a trail of destruction similar to an EF3 twister, with winds ranging from 135 to 165 mph, according to meteorologist Chris Franks from the National Weather Service’s Omaha office.


The Elkhorn neighborhood in western Omaha bore the brunt of the tornado's force, leaving residents like James Stennis in disbelief as they sought refuge in their basements, listening to the destruction unfolding above ground.


Firefighters tirelessly worked to ensure no one was trapped, with chainsaws buzzing through the air the following morning as residents surveyed the wreckage. Among them was Staci Roe, facing the heartbreaking reality of her nearly new "forever home" reduced to rubble, a stark reminder of the tornado's indiscriminate force.

Anupam Kher remembers last conversation with Satish Kaushik three hours before his death: ‘Go to the hospital, get yourself admitted

  A ctor Anupam Kher shared a strong friendship with late Bollywood actor-director Satish Kaushik, who passed away last year, following a heart attack. Recently, Kher revisited his first meeting with Kaushik at drama school in 1975. The Saaransh star also recalled the last conversation that he had with his friend of 48 years, just three hours before  his death. Kher recalled that he was on a phone call with Kaushik just three before before he succumbed to a heart attack. During their conversation, Kaushik had mentioned that he was feeling unwell, and Kher had told him to get admitted to a hospital. "I told him, 'Go to the hospital, get yourself admitted.
