A DWP minister has declined to specify which conditions will no longer qualify for PIP in a crackdown on disability benefits. DWP's Work and Pensions Secretary, Mel Stride, described the proposals as aiming to create a "fair and compassionate" system with personalized support.


Alison McGovern, Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary, criticized Stride for speaking ambiguously on mental health, accusing him of perpetuating stigma. She pressed for clarity on which health conditions might be affected by the changes.


In response, Stride stated that McGovern's concerns would be addressed in the consultation. He hinted that individuals with "milder health conditions" might lose financial support, citing examples from other countries like New Zealand and Norway where benefit systems differ in approach and application.

Anupam Kher remembers last conversation with Satish Kaushik three hours before his death: ‘Go to the hospital, get yourself admitted

  A ctor Anupam Kher shared a strong friendship with late Bollywood actor-director Satish Kaushik, who passed away last year, following a heart attack. Recently, Kher revisited his first meeting with Kaushik at drama school in 1975. The Saaransh star also recalled the last conversation that he had with his friend of 48 years, just three hours before  his death. Kher recalled that he was on a phone call with Kaushik just three before before he succumbed to a heart attack. During their conversation, Kaushik had mentioned that he was feeling unwell, and Kher had told him to get admitted to a hospital. "I told him, 'Go to the hospital, get yourself admitted. Go as if you are going to a resort'," Kher shared with Bollywood Hungama. Kaushik insisted on going in the morning, but Kher didn't give up. He told his friend, "You go now. Lie down and rest there.
