"Historic Clash: Olympiakos on the Brink of European Glory Against Fiorentina!"

Hindivlogss

Olympiakos aim to become the first Greek club to win a European trophy when they face Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final in Athens on Wednesday.

Jose Luis Mendilibar's team secured their place in the club's first European final by defeating Aston Villa 6-2 on aggregate in the previous round.

Their opponents, Fiorentina, are looking to redeem themselves after losing to West Ham in last season's final.

"It would be amazing. We'd go down in Olympiakos and football history," said Mendilibar.

Mendilibar, who led Sevilla to Europa League victory last season, took over at Olympiakos in February. The team had dropped out of the Europa League group stages and into the third-tier Conference League.

Olympiakos' journey to the final included victories over Ferencvaros, a comeback from a 4-1 home defeat against Maccabi Tel Aviv in the last 16, and defeating Fenerbahce in the quarter-finals before their decisive win over Villa.

"Along the way, we've crossed the whole of Europe, playing against many opponents," Mendilibar added. "There are so many different moments, and I think we could call it a marathon. Now we've reached the end."

The participation of this 18-year-old was 17.1%, 2.3 points below that of four years ago but in a different context. At that moment there was a concentration of votes in the first hour which then slowed down to 59% by the end of the day - later falling to 49% after counting only 6,000 votes from abroad. In reality, the participation of the middle was the third highest in the last 20 years, only behind that of 2020 and the 18,8% of 2005, when the government changed from PP to bipartite of PSOE and BNG. Those elections were also held in summer and with good temperatures, favoring early voting. A media later, the most recent elections with greater participation had been those of 2009, when Alberto Núñez Fe...
