The residents of London have cast their votes determining the outcome of the contest between Labour incumbent Sadiq Khan and his Conservative rival Susan Hall. However, both frontrunners must wait patiently for at least another day until the official announcement of the winner.


While many political analysts anticipate a historic third-term victory for Khan, he finds himself in a tense situation as his significant lead in opinion polls dwindled in the final days of the six-week election campaign.


Although polls closed at 10 p.m. on Thursday, the officials will spend Friday verifying the ballot papers before the counting process commences at nine different locations on Saturday.


The Greater London Authority has opted for a manual counting process, abandoning the electronic counting machines used in previous mayoral elections. This change means that the GLA cannot provide an exact time for the declaration of the winner. Nonetheless, it is anticipated that the candidates and their campaign teams will gather at City Hall on Saturday evening for the announcement.

Anupam Kher remembers last conversation with Satish Kaushik three hours before his death: ‘Go to the hospital, get yourself admitted

  A ctor Anupam Kher shared a strong friendship with late Bollywood actor-director Satish Kaushik, who passed away last year, following a heart attack. Recently, Kher revisited his first meeting with Kaushik at drama school in 1975. The Saaransh star also recalled the last conversation that he had with his friend of 48 years, just three hours before  his death. Kher recalled that he was on a phone call with Kaushik just three before before he succumbed to a heart attack. During their conversation, Kaushik had mentioned that he was feeling unwell, and Kher had told him to get admitted to a hospital. "I told him, 'Go to the hospital, get yourself admitted. Go as if you are going to a resort'," Kher shared with Bollywood Hungama. Kaushik insisted on going in the morning, but Kher didn't give up. He told his friend, "You go now. Lie down and rest there.
